Rockwell RK1807K2 20V Drill/Driver and Impact/Driver Combo Kit

For several years now Rockwell has been developing good tools and we have enjoyed many of them.  From the 3RILL 12V 3-in-1 Drill to the Sonicrafter F50 Oscillating Multi-Tool, we have found that the tools are very well built and offer good features at a fair price.

The current offering from Rockwell is the RK1807K2 Combo Kit including an RK2852K2 20V Brushless Drill/Driver and RK2860K2 20V Brushless Impact Driver.  This set utilizes an efficient and compact brushless motor design and computer controlled power distribution that increases runtime up to 50% more per charge over a standard brushed motor.  The 20V MaxLithium technology also provides longer runtimes, higher working efficiency, more cycles and minimal discharge.  One of the benefits of Lithium-Ion battery technology is that it allows you to run the machine until completely dead at full strength.  The kit also comes with 2 belt clips rather than the single clip provided by some competitive manufacturers.  It has a battery power indicator on the battery that shows charge status and when it does require charging, they charge quite quickly in about an hour from zero to full charge.  We found that the both drivers performed extremely well driving over 200 screws with no discernable drop in available torque.   Beginning with a full charge and engaging the trigger fully the drill ran approximately two hours and the impact gun ran an hour and 38 minutes without a load on them before expiring.  That means you’re going to get a good runtime out of the system.  The handles are soft grip and work quite well.  They are comfortable to hold and vibrate very little.

Some of the best features of the system are a 3 year limited warranty on the entire drill and driver setup and a 20 year warranty on the motor, and finally a 20 year warranty on the battery (for the original registered owner). Once you register it, a battery that fails to charge can be exchanged at no charge, free, gratis, for the next 20 years.

The balance of these two units is incredible.  The lighter smaller brushless motors makes it quite easy for it to balance and perform very well.  We think that you will enjoy the balance and solid feel of the unit and Rockwell stands behind all their products which is why we are so very proud to have Rockwell sponsor our podcast .  Their new level of service could be a game changer and add greatly to your peace of mind, guaranteeing your tool will not become obsolete just because your battery died.  Just register your tool with Rockwell within 90 days of purchase.  Specific to Rockwell brushless motors you can call Rockwell Warranty at (866) 514-7625 and they will take care of replacing your motor by either referring you to a service center or a mail in exchange.  The limited 3 year warranty covers the tool from head to toe to be free of defects in materials and workmanship.

So you can get this combo kit for less than other comparable brands and the benefit of course is the battery warranty and the affordable quality Rockwell builds all their tools.  The anti-vibration and all that goes into the design is top shelf so I have no problem reaching for these Rockwell drivers first.  If you choose this new Combo Kit we have no doubt you well be well pleased.  Rockwell tools are available at local retailers and also at Amazon.com.
